So now we are trying to get into the government procurement circuit. We thought we would apply for disadvantaged business certification. Gore didn’t reduce the paperwork enough. I’m not sure how long it will take us just to gather all the information and documents we’re going to need to get the varied amounts of certifications and access codes we need just to let them know we’re in business. I found 4 forms that were hidden in the application. When I called the SBA number to get help on filling out the application, not only did I get voicemail, I got a FULL voicemail box.
Tonight, I’m finishing up our letter of introduction that we are bringing to our SCORE counselor today. He is a retired movie marketing exec. He’s enthusiastic about us. He likes our moxie. I’m just hoping that moxie is going to be enough. He is a great help in getting us pointed in the right direction when it comes to putting together our own marketing campaign. My partner is on the upswing now. That works out because we need to get a client soon and I am starting to wear out. That’s the gem of having a partner. You have to pick someone who’s cycles are complimentary to your own. When you’re up they have to be grounded, and when you’re down, they have to be up, and vise-versa. I lucked out on that one.

Been away a while. So many things are going on now that I have to start logging them again. Quick catchup then move ahead.
Auditioned for a TV Reality Show. Got up to the final cut and got cut. That was a huge experience. Since I still think about it alot I'm sure that I will be mentioning it more.
Ran the Chicago Marathon. I didn't beat Oprah's time but I finished and have the metal to prove it. Wow. That was a personality builder. I will have to do it again.
Lost weight, gained weight.
Got job, got laid off.
Started my own business with some of my former coworkers. That is going to probably be the gist of what goes on here. I want to chronicle that and my writing career. This should be a lot of heartache and drama. With any luck I will be able to get around and over the quagmire of government help that the president is offering to small business. I think I will address that situation tommorrow.
But for now. I'm back.
